Making it Happen in 2025: Setting, Shaping, and Sticking to my Goals
Here we are, almost two weeks into 2025, and the time already seems to be flying by. In order to make the most of my year, I’ve set a series of goals to help me become the best version of myself and help me live my dream life this year. Check out my goals below, as well as some tips for setting your own!
Career Goals
What better time to review your upcoming career goals than the beginning of the year? Planning for career growth at the beginning of the new year gives you a specific, easy-to-follow timeline of the coming twelve months.
I’m just getting started in a new industry, which means there’s so much time to watch and track my career growth. There’s no shortage of career goals you can set, especially when it comes to things like boosting productivity, improving margins, or bettering yourself professionally overall. For me, goals this year included finishing my current schooling and giving it my all, keeping my website and portfolio updated, and gaining any overall experience I can in my industry.
Keeping goals simple and achievable makes them more reachable, and measuring these goals will help you stay motivated as you ensure you’re on the right track!
2. Hobby Goals
While it’s great to keep up with career-related ambitions, I’ve also found it helpful to stay on track with a number of personal goals too. One of my favourite hobbies right now is language acquisition. I use a variety of platforms and tools to stay on top of my French skills, while also learning Spanish from a beginner level.
For me, these goals offer me a break from work, while still keeping my mind engaged and helping me feel productive. Daily, I only spend about half an hour on each language, but it really does add up and I’m already noticing it getting me to great milestones on my language-learning journey.
The nice thing about hobby goals is that the possibilities are endless! Whether you want to read more, learn to cook, or stay on top of your journaling, hobbies offer a great means of escape from mundane life, and can include a variety of different activities to suit what you feel will help you best!
3. Fitness Goals
Fitness has been a huge part of my life for several years now. My goals this year were mostly regarding tracking my fitness habits and ensuring consistency in my workouts and diet in my day to day life. That being said, setting a fitness goal doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be in the gym six days a week like me!
Something great about fitness goals is that there’s so much room for flexibility. Goals can range anywhere from heavy-lifting to daily walks, and everything in between. Not a fitness buff? Start by getting more steps in per day. In the gym constantly? Work on going up a weight class.
Overall, fitness goals are a fun way to promote healthy living and get your body moving!
4. Financial Goals
Financial goals are one of my main focuses this year, because I’ve never really been serious about finances until recently. I’m thrilled to say I’ve been making great progress with these goals already this year, as I’ve taken steps to learn about things like investing and savings accounts, and have even opened up some of my own to start putting money away. Another huge goal of mine, which I’m giving myself a year and a half for, is to pay off my student loans and become debt-free.
Whether it’s putting money away, investing like me, or even just educating yourself more on the financial world, finance goals are some of the most important goals you can make and meet for yourself this year.
5. Lifestyle Goals
How do you see yourself living your best life this year? Lifestyle goals are all about ensuring your life is as beautiful as you see fit! For me, this looked like staying single in 2025, and halting my constant search for love. I’m working on finding love for and within myself, and enjoying my time in my own company!
What do your lifestyle goals look like? Keeping your space tidy is a great, simple place to start, while aiming to travel is a bit heftier and will be incredibly rewarding. Overall, lifestyle goals are all about allowing you to live the life of your dreams! We all have a vision, and 2025 is a great opportunity to bring it to life!
